"Rhys Workshop helped me emerge from a dark period and reconnect with society"

"I never thought I could become a workshop instructor on my own."

—— Ping (Housewife, mother of one son and one daughter)

I joined Rhys Workshop in 2021. Besides sewing, I have been involved in factory management since 2023 and also serve as a craft instructor.

Rhys Workshop collaborates with the Society for Community Organization and the SideBySide to provide employment support to disadvantaged communities. Our current production team is composed of underprivileged women and individuals with disabilities.

We practice flexible working hours to allow them to balance their family or personal needs. According to their skills and family situations, we allocate tasks such as handcrafting, sewing, and home-based work opportunities, involving them in various collaborative projects to encourage them to utilize their strengths.

Even those who don’t know how to sew can participate in three- to six-month employment training, learning basic hand sewing and machine sewing techniques to help them develop their talents and build an independent life.
